>
> 8 laptops, 3 turntables, 6 keyboards, 4 drum machines, a Theremin live onstage
production, The Cannabinoids represent a musical exploration of the science of
addiction.

>
> It's the sensational reaction created when the synthetic combines with the
organic, and The Cannabinoids are the receptors that bind the experience. The
project was originally conceived when Erykah Badu sought to manifest live musical
improvisation utilizing the tools of studio tracking and hip-hop production.

(Footage) Rock the Bells After Party w/ Loretta Brown and Talib Kweli

Photobucket
Yo the show was awesome. Jay Clipp rock the crowd and The Gritz had the crowd bobbing their heads and singing the chorus of "Summer Boo." Soon it was time for Dallas' finest Low Down Loretta Brown (aka E.Badu) to rock the 1's and 2's. If you were lucky, you caught Farnsworth Bentley chilling in the crowd. And later that night, Talib Kweli and Mos Def gave shot outs on the mic and chilled onstage. Check out this footage and some coverage from the Dallas Observer.

The Weston Wimberley Experience

This past weekend I had the opportunity of meeting (and collabing) with artist Weston Wimberely. What can I say? The Weston Wimberley Experience is like none other. Call it country western meets folk meets hip hop. Yeah! It's crazy! Can't wait to work with this cat some more. Can you say extremely talented? Can you say overnight sensation? Can you say a whole new genre of music? Shouts out to Weston and his crew who came through the studio. This is the beginning of a monumental relationship.

Jean Michel Basquiat: The Radiant Child

"Red on the wall. Basquiat when I paint." - Rick Ross

Photobucket
Jean-Michel Basquiat, a black man, was a phenomenon. He became notorious for his graffiti art under the moniker Samo in the late 1970s on the Lower East Side scene, sold his first painting to Deborah Harry for $200 and became best friends with Andy Warhol. He became the most popular and influential artist of his time, from 1976 to 1986.

If you haven't seen this incredible documentary on Jean Michel Basquiat. You've got to watch it. It's worth every minute. Pure genius...

Dirty Always Live Like a Soldier: Dallas' Influence on Hip Hop

Jah Beezy considered it a huge honor to be on this panel. Check for the video footage soon!!!

In 1997, Erykah Badu broke through the ciphers of South Dallas to emerge as a force reflecting the ears of international hip-hop. Since Baduizm, Dallas-based musicians and producers have contributed to the influential sound and worldwide grind of industry kings Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, Kanye West, Diddy, and Timbaland. How does the Dirty South hustle flow through studios across the world? During this discussion the panel explored the bi-coastal validation factor, J Dilla's influence, the North Texas Jazz connection, and how this is changing the game in 2011.
